The term “breeder,” used to refer to heterosexual couples, has a different meaning from “breeding” — being aroused by the prospect of having sex without protection. It’s getting off on the idea of sex that could risk pregnancy or an STI. Breeder is a pejorative term coined by gay or lesbian people particularly for parents who purportedly over-focus on their children and allegedly abandon their previous friends and lifestyle; or to women who give birth to many children, often with the derisive implication that they have too many offspring.

Among gay people, breeder has always been something more than slang. It has a distinctly pejorative flavor and used to be pretty much a slur. (It became popular during a time when anti-gay. It's towards just straight couples, it's the gay version of "cracker". Gay couples with kids don't apply because its targeted towards straight people, who can "breed".

Use gay, lesbian, or when appropriate, bisexual, pansexual, or queer to describe people attracted to people of the same gender or more than one gender.
